Who Can Join?

Membership in the DAR is open to women 18 years and older who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot who supported the American Revolution.

Fun Fact: All of our members can trace their ancestry back to soldiers, Patriots, and supporters of the Revolutionary War from the 1700s, which connects us directly to the founding of our nation!

You don’t need to be a professional historian or genealogist. If you have a documented connection to a Patriot, you’re eligible to join. Members come from all walks of life, united by a love of history, community service, and education. If you don’t know where to start but want to see if you have any Revolutionary ancestry, contact us and we’ll help you figure it out.
