Historic Preservation History

Preserving local history has always been central to our work. Members have placed and dedicated markers across Johnson County, including sites along the Santa Fe Trail, the Oregon and California Trails, and early missions that shaped Kansas history.

The chapter has helped protect and maintain landmarks such as:
 

  • Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm
     

  • Ensor Farmsite and Museum
     

  • Lanesfield Schoolhouse
     

Through these efforts, Olathe Chapter, NSDAR members ensure that the stories of our community remain visible and accessible for future generations.
